If a film’s
soundtrack features two versions of a song (rendered by different singers),
comparisons are inevitable, and usually avoidable.
But there are
exceptions, such as Dil Mein Baji Guitar,
from Apna Sapna Money Money (2006).
While Mika Singh
sang the longer version (which was four minutes and 26 seconds longer), Amit Kumar’s
version, which was just a second shorter, was better.
Shabbir Ahmed
penned them.
The listeners didn’t
have to (Ku)wait for another inspired track by Pritam.
Allegedly, he
partly plagiarised Miami’s* Sheloha Shela
(2003).
(*Note: It is a band
from the Middle-Eastern nation.)
