D’Mello certainly made her Ma(hiya)rk

Awarapan (2007) was the first Hindi film whose songs were sung by Pakistanis.
Even Mahiya, which was rendered by Suzanne D’Mello, wasn’t an exception. It was originally penned, composed and sung by Annie Khalid*.

Pritam recreated the track, which was four minutes and 24 seconds long.

Asif Ali Beg and Sayeed Quadri, respectively, penned the English and Hindi portions of the recreated track.

[Note: It is the stage name of Noor-ul-Ain Khalid, whose version, which was titled Mahiya (Remix), was included on the soundtrack of the film. It was five minutes and 12 seconds long.]
