The Faridis were the Sing(h)ers

If the five songs from Laal Singh Chaddha in my collection were arranged in the alphabetical order, Tur Kalleyan would be the last.

But if they were arranged in the descending order of their durations, it would be the second – it was five minutes and 39 seconds long.

Arijit was one of the three people who rendered it.

The Faridis – Altamash and Shadaab – shared Sing(h)ing credits with him for it.

Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote the song, which was composed by Pritam.

It took over six weeks to shoot, and was filmed at multiple locations across India.

AS usual, Shilpa was brilliant

If the five songs from Laal Singh Chaddha were arranged in the alphabetical order, Tere Hawaale would be the fourth.

And if they were arranged in the descending order of their durations, it would be the first – it was five minutes and 46 seconds long.

Arijit Singh – the voice of the soundtrack – was one of the two people who lent their voices to the song.

The other was none other than the brilliant Shilpa Rao, whose vocals don’t feature too often on film soundtracks.

The song, which Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote, was composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

Indeed, (Arij)it was rendered beautifully

Recently, I heard yet another song from Laal Singh Chaddha.

It was titled Phir Na Aisi Raat Aayegi.

If the five tracks from the film in my collection were arranged in the alphabetical order, as well as in the ascending order of their durations, it would be the third – it was four minutes and 43 seconds long.

The song, which was written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, was composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

(Arij)It was sung by the one and only Mr Singh, and there’s no two ways about the fact that it was an extremely beautiful song.

Mr Nigam’s solo was superb

Main Ki Karaan? – Punjabi for, “What do I do” – was a song from Laal Singh Chaddha.

As a person who grew up in the 1990s, and a Hindi film music buff, I was delighted when I read it was written by Sonu Nigam.

And there’s no two ways about the fact that it was a treat to the ears.

In a video posted to the crooner’s YouTube channel, it took him five-and-a-half hours to record.

The track – which was written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and was composed by Pritam – was four minutes and 19 seconds long.

It was (Moh)an outstanding track

Laal Singh Chaddha, which released in 2022, was an adaptation of the Tom Hanks-starrer Forrest Gump, which released in 1994, and was, in turn, based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name.

Kahani was a mind-blowing song from the film, which starred Aamir Khan as the titular character.

It was sung by Mohan Kannan.

Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote the song, which was three minutes and 28 seconds long.

It was composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

By the way, the film marked the music director's third collaboration with Khan, after Dhoom 3 (2013) and Dangal (2016).

Abhijeet S(hrey)ang this date song

If the three songs on the soundtrack of Freddy were arranged in the alphabetical order, Tum Jo Milo would be the third.

And if they were arranged in the descending order of their durations, it would be the second – it was three minutes and 25 seconds long.

The soulful romantic number was sung by Abhijeet Srivastava, who was joined behind the microphone for it by Shreya Phukan.

The latter also happened to be one of the three people who wrote it.

The others were Irshad Kamil and Brianna Supriyo.

That track was composed by Pritam.

It was sung by Chaitanya

If the three songs from Freddy in my collection were arranged in the alphabetical order, Tujhse Pyaar Karta Hoon would be the second.

And if they were arranged in the ascending order of their durations, it would be the first – it was just a couple of minutes and 35 seconds long.

That track happened to be the only solo on the film’s soundtrack – the man who lent his voice to it was Raghav Chaitanya.

But the two best-known people associated with it were Irshad Kamil, who wrote the song, and Pritam Chakraborty, who composed it.

(Arij)It was sung by Nikhita

Just when I thought Pritam Chakraborty had just three releases in 2022 (viz., Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, and Laal Singh Chaddha), another film containing his compositions released at the end of the year.

It was titled Freddy.

The film’s soundtrack contained a song titled Kaala Jaadu.

Arijit was one of the two people who lent it their voices.

Nikhita Gandhi shared Sing(h)ing credits with him for it.

Irshad Kamil was one of the two men who wrote it.

The other was Shloke Lal.

The song was three minutes and 36 seconds long.
