The dual inspiration was KKondoned

The soundtrack of Life In A… Metro couldn’t have had a more interesting track than O Meri Jaan.

Penned by Sandeep Srivastava, the song was rendered by KK. The Reprise version (or the Band Metro version) was sung by the latter and Suhail Kaul.

For this one, Pritam wasn’t inspired by one, but two songs – it was an amalgamation of a Western track [Silent Lucidity (from the 1990 album Imagine by Queensryche, an American progressive metal band)] and a track from the Middle-East [Ba’ed el Layali (from the 2002 album Akhtar Wahed by Amr Diab)].
