Jhumritalaiyya isn’t just
the Jharkhand town that became famous in the Golden Era of Hindi film music for
a slew of farmaishein (requests) for songs on Radio Ceylon and Vividh
Bharati, All India Radio’s national broadcast service.
It was also the name of a track from Jagga Jasoos.
Three minutes and 59 seconds long, it was the only song in the film that was penned by Neelesh Misra.
It was composed by Pritam.
Incidentally, the track, which was rendered by Arijit Singh and Mohan Kannan, also had a reference to Timbuktu, the city in Mali.
